XXVI IAMM TAPC State Chapter Conference 2023
The XXVI TAPC State Chapter conference of the IAMM (Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists) was held at the Hotel Abode by Venkateshwara Lakdi ka pul Hyderabad from the 10th to the 12th March 2023. This was preceded by five workshops covering various subjects such as Autoimmunity, CSSD management, sexually transmitted infections and anaerobic bacteriology and the recent trends in the identification of organisms using MALDI- TOF . Postgraduate practical training with a OSPE model was for the first time held as a workshop over two days preceding the conference
The conference was a clear mix of various sessions such as didactic lectures, mini and major symposia, quiz, debate on the need for Centralised Microbiology service in modern medicine. Clinical Case scenarios covering a range of clinical situations as well as a focus on Antimicrobial resistance mechanisms encountered in routine practice also formed a salient feature of the conference for the first time. A full session followed by proferred oral paper presentations on Healthcare associated infections and Infection prevention and control for the first time, became an integral part of the conference. We hope this will be continued in the future as well. As is always the case, PG pedagogy formed a part of the conference .
The conference was well attended with over 400 delegates from both the states and some delegates from neighbouring states as well. There was an active participation from the trainees in various medical colleges as well as from young and experienced microbiologists with more than a 190 papers presented as either oral or poster sessions. Many participants won prizes in various categories and the presentations were well received by the audience

The XXV IAMM TAPC Chapter Silver Jubilee Annual Conference was held from 9th to 11th September 2022 at GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, GITAM, Visakhapatnam.
